Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Last updated:

BabyCare AI stores on your device only what the app needs to work: a login cookie, a cookie with your choice, your data in the browser's local storage and the app files for offline use. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Third-party services — Google Maps and the jsDelivr CDN — load only after your consent or an explicit action by you. Below is the full list and instructions for managing this data.

1. What cookies, local storage and Service Workers are

  • Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser and that the browser sends back to the server with each request. We use them to keep you signed in and to remember your choice;
  • Local storage (localStorage) is an area in your browser where the app keeps data on your device. This data is not sent to the server automatically. In guest mode, all your entries are stored only here;
  • A Service Worker and its cache is a background browser script that saves the app files so that BabyCare AI opens quickly and works offline.

How we process personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. Categories

  • Essential — the app cannot work or fulfil your request without them: signing in, remembering your choice, storing the data you enter, working offline. They are used without separate consent and cannot be turned off in the app;
  • Optional (third-party) — services of other companies that load only after your consent or explicit action: Google Maps and the jsDelivr CDN.

We do not use analytics, advertising or marketing cookies.

Until erased means the data is kept until you erase it via Cookie settings → Erase data on this device, or clear the site data in your browser.

4. Third-party services and when they load

  • Google Maps (Google LLC) — loads only when you tap to find nearby hospitals or pharmacies. Your browser will ask for location access. Google receives your location and IP address and may set its own cookies and identifiers under its own policy;
  • jsDelivr CDN — used only if AI document scanning is unavailable and text recognition runs in your browser. The Tesseract.js script and language files are downloaded from the CDN; your image is not uploaded, but the CDN sees your IP address;
  • OpenAI — AI requests are processed server-side, through our server. OpenAI does not set cookies on your device.

5. How consent works

  • On your first visit, a banner shows two buttons: Agree — allow optional services, and Decline — use essential storage only;
  • Declining does not block the core app. The map and the OCR CDN will ask again when they are needed;
  • You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the page footer;
  • The same place offers Erase data on this device, which removes BabyCare AI data from your browser. If you are not signed in to an account, erased data cannot be restored.

6. How to block or delete data in your browser

You can also manage cookies and site data in your browser settings. Menu names vary by version:

  • Chrome (desktop and Android): Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites, then find the site and delete its data;
  • Safari (iPhone and iPad): Settings → Safari (on newer iOS: Settings → Apps → Safari) → Advanced → Website Data. If the app is installed on your Home Screen, removing its icon also removes its data;
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data;
  • Samsung Internet: Menu → Settings → Personal browsing data → Delete browsing data.

If you block essential cookies or local storage, signing in and saving data may stop working.

7. Do Not Track

We do not track users across other websites, do not use advertising or analytics trackers and do not build behavioural profiles. The Service therefore works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this policy if the data we store or the services we load change. The new version will be published on this page with a new date, and material changes will be announced in the app.
